What travelers have to say:

This website is new an I have booked most of my tours over another international portal. I am trying to get my own company up and running. Therefore, as of spring 2024, I do not yet have any reviews, as I have not offer the possibility. I am now trying to change that. I cannot link to another site here, but I have put in some reviews that I received there, marked with (*). If you would like to see these public reviews on another site, please reach out.

I pick you up at your Munich city hotel, and we get on the famous German Autobahn (highway) and head south to the alpine roads that take us to Berchtesgaden.

We take the bus to the elevator entrance (only busses are allowed on this part of the mountain) and then take the elevator to the very top, where a stunning view and history await. There is a restaurant on the mountaintop, and we will have the opportunity to get lunch in the Biergarten there. We can walk up to the mountain peak and get the breathtaking views. Depending on how long we want to stay on the mountaintop, we may also have time to visit the beautiful town of Berchtesgaden before we return to Munich.

As is true of all my tours, the exact itinerary will be as flexible as possible. We will finalize any important details or special requests in the final tour booking confirmation. There are numerous other things to do in the area here, and certainly too many to do in a single day. But if you have seen the Eagle’s Nest already, or are perhaps more interested in other sights, other things we can do in the area could include a trip to the salt-mines, where we get dressed up like a miner and take a wooden slide into the inner part of the mountain where the salt is found. Or we could take a boat ride on the Königsee and perhaps climb up to an Ice Cave or hike around a beautiful alpine lake to Germany’s largest waterfall.

After a full Historical Alpine Experience, we return to Munich.

IMPORTANT!
The Eagles Nest is very weather-dependent, as well as seasonal. It normally opens around the beginnig of May untill the end of October. It is not always open, please message me for more details. It can also be spontaneously closed due to weather. This is out of a guide’s control, sadly.

I am more than willing to customize this tour according to your preferences, please contact me for more details.

Many of the things we will be able to see and do can often be impacted by the time of year and the weather.

An average day tour has a duration of 9+1/2 hours. Traffic may affect the tour duration.

We will travel in a 2021 Mercedes van, very comfortable with AC and seats that can be tilted back. If a child’s seat is needed, I can provide a seat for children around 9 months to 6 years. Please let me know in advance as the seat is not in the van at all times.

Photos can be seen in the photo gallery.

  • !! Please note that many shops and most supermarkets are closed on Sundays.
  • Many Places, especially smaller cafes and restaurants, still do not accept credit cards. A little extra local cash (Euros) is never a bad idea.
